Design Support Associate 

 

What we’re looking for: 

NextGen Security is seeking a Design Support Associate to join our fast-growing and dynamic team. This will be a hybrid role supporting both the CAD Department and the Pre-Sales Design Department.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • CAD Department (75%):
    • This individual will work closely with the CAD Manager, System Designers, Account Managers, and Project Managers to create high-qualitydetailed 2D drawings for various clientsensuring that drawings are accurate and comply with company CAD Standards. 
  • Pre-Sales Design Department (25%):
    • This individual will assist the System Designers in the design of fully integrated security solutions. This will involve researching products, generating system overview drawings, and conducting site visits with System Designers to generate documentation and assist sales in the end-user proposal presentations as needed.

What you bring to the table: 

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent Certificate in Drafting & Design (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2018 or higher (knowledge of AutoCAD Dynamic Scales & Blocks is a plus).
  • Experience with Floor Plans, Riser Diagrams & Wiring Schematics.
  • Ability to perform quality checks on designs to ensure they are free from errors and discrepancies.
  • Ability to work independently & productively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to support multiple projects & meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to use and maintain a plotter.
  • Ability to perform duties in the field (Field Surveys, Project Meetings).
  • Ability to work additional hours when required.
  • Experience with Windows 10/11 Operating Systems.
  • Experience with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio).
  • Experience with other CAD software is a plus (Revit, Solidworks, etc.)
  • Experience of 3D printing and design is a plus.
