But, there’s no cause for concern. We are here to answer any and all questions you have about how to seamlessly and successfully segue to the next generation of new iSTAR Ultra SE controllers. Rest assured that they feature an identical hardware layout for the ACM I/O board, with identical connectors. And this means that current wiring layouts and designs do NOT have to be altered when upgrading to iSTAR Ultra SE!

Question #3) What are some of the advantages of Ultras & new iStar Edge?
iSTAR Ultra SE comes complete with many advantages and is an ideal next-generation solution to replace iSTAR Pro legacy technology.
The iSTAR Ultra SE has the same capabilities as the iSTAR Pro when used in “Pro mode” and is compatible with C•CURE 800/8000 and C•CURE 9000.
In “Ultra mode,” advanced encryption and wireless lock support are enabled, allowing wireless locks to communicate with C•CURE 9000.
Additionally, iSTAR Ultra SE can manage up to 500,000 cardholders in local memory and is also available in wall-mount and rack mount configurations.

Dual GigE network ports, FIPS-level encryption, a hardened Linux OS, abundant storage capacity (2GB RAM, 16GB SD) and new firmware features that are already having an impact such as team-rule, expiring clearances and reader-to-panel encrypted communications. iSTAR Ultra SE also allows you to expand up to 32 readers per panel using IP-ACM Ethernet door modules and ASSA ABLOY Aperio or Schlage wireless locksets.
